Red Carpet Glam at the 81st Oscar Ceremony
Fashion focus - the Chignon!
This year Annual Academy awards was all about GLAM, both in the fashion and hair department. This year our leading ladies were inspired by romantic glamorous styles, with the Chignon (better known as the bun) making a huge come back as a red carpet favorite. The bun inspired hairstyles come in many forms, each infused with the wearers own personal style and touch. Here are some of the favorites on the red carpet.
Amy Adams, nominated for best supporting actress for her role in Doubt, incorporated a deep side parting into a sleek low bun to create a sophisticated look that was further emphasized by her deep shinny red hair.

Penelope Cruz wore a true classic chignon with soft eye skimming bangs. Her hair was a favorite on the red carpet and perfectly matched her vintage draped gown.

Evan Rachel Wood opted for a high-rise twisted bun. Her chignon incorporated a 40’s inspired swept-up wavy bang that was set to perfection.

Natalie Portman, who even looks good with no hair, wears a neat softly swept-back up-do. She has a just off the center parting that showcases her natural waves. Her bun is intricately styled with neat curls and twists to add a modern touch to the classic bun look.
