Straight from the Red Carpet at the SAG Awards!
Phew, am I happy that the SAG ( Screen Actors Guild ) organizers are supporting the Writers Guild of America throughout their strike otherwise it would have been one more Red Carpet event we would have missed out on!

Debra Messing and Christina Applegate |
This year’s SAG Awards was on a “touch-and-go” after the recent awards shows, Golden Globes and People's Choice Awards, were a complete disaster with our favorite celebrities behind the ropes of the red carpet picketing in support of the writers! Lets hope Hollywood Producers come to their senses to put an end to the strike so that we can look forward to the up coming Oscars and the other Red Carpet events later this year.
The fashion for this year’s Red Carpet Celebrity “walk-off” focused on “shimmery” gowns. Either metallic gowns or gowns in varying colors combining jewels and metallic elements, creating true Hollywood-chic fashion statements, as seen here with Debra Messing and Christina Applegate.
With so much blinding shimmer everywhere our favorite celebrities opted to leave their precious jewels at home this year and rather focused their attention on their hairstyles to complete their Red Carpet look.
This duo showcases the events hair fashion, with most of the celebrities opting for soft, feminine hairstyles. The Red Carpet was split equally between long-flowing, soft curls and soft, feminine updo’s.

Rebecca Romjin |
Overall there was some truly amazing gowns, a few fashion flops, and it goes without saying that some celebrities just took the whole “bling” thing a little too far.
My vote for overall best dressed goes to Rebecca Romjin. Rebecca wore a beautiful duo-tone Roberto Cavalli creation, but the best part was her hair. Most celebrities opted for a more casual look but Rebecca’s hairstyle was perfectly sculpted, combining soft curls in this beautiful updo.

Terri Hatched |
Another of my favorites at the event was Terri Hatched, who did the “shimmery” thing to perfection and opting for a more casual updo to not detract attention from her gown.

Eva Longoria |
And finally, a special mention has to go to Eva Longoria Parker who wore the most amazing white “shimmery” gown but who completely flopped on the hairstyle. I really don’t know what this tiny-framed gal was thinking with such a huge mop for a bang; this could go down as the worst hairstyle at the event.
