Celebrity hair trends 2011 – It’s a
short story!
Celebrity hair trends
in 2010 where long with the much-needed help of hair extensions.
The long hair was worn with
unnatural volume and thickness that made it extremely hard for us to compete
with our favorite stars.
This year we see
trends at the opposite side of the spectrum, with all natural extra short,
pixie hairstyles and slightly longer modern shaggy bob’s versus the extra
long and thick flowing celebrity waves produced by often expensive
extensions.
The 2011 hair trends
started towards the end of 2010 with many of the top stars cutting their
long tresses and opting for much shorter, natural looking and easier to
maintain hairstyles.
This short trend is
very popular with young and old in Hollywood.
We have highlighted young,
up and coming stars, that are currently making waves in Hollywood.
The young
trendsetters this year include Emma Watson (of Harry Potter fame), Ashley
Simpson, Michelle Williams and Scarlett Johansson.

Emma Watson, who has
just become the face of Lancome (which is a great achievement considering
she hasn’t had any other major roles) chopped her long “girly” hairstyle
into a short pixie cut that adds a certain carefree maturity to her previous
sweet innocent look.

Scarlett Johansson,
unveiled her messy tousled look at this years Oscars, which is a very
different look to her usual classic style that makes us think of Old
Hollywood Glamour.
This messy bob is a young
and funky hairstyle that can be worn casual or formal depending on the
occasion.

Ashley Simpson, who
isn’t afraid of change, which is evident in the numerous hairstyles and
colors seen in the past few years, has gone short with an asymmetrical
bleach blonde pixie hairstyle.
This longish pixie hairstyle
is shaggy and suits the pop rocker’s image.

Michelle Williams, is
another starlet who has opted for an extra short and super blonde pixie
hairstyle.
She has
worn this style in a feminine and neat fashion for the Oscars and ruffled
the look for a more shaggy, carefree everyday look.
